Paul O’Connell is a Senior Manager in the Growth and Advisory Services division of Santander UK. Paul holds an Masters in Economics from University College London. His work currently focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence, ChatBots, VoiceBots, and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) to banking problems. The team he leads develops AI models, apps, chatbots and NLU models that aim to improve the customer experience for customers and staff, fight financial crime and improve business performance. In the past, Paul launched Santander Connect (Santander's Corporate Internet Banking platform), Spendlytics, SmartBank spend analysis apps and he designed Santander Online Banking service.
